What our creators say
FAQs
What does an influencer talent management agency do?
An influencer talent management agency looks after the commercial side of being a creator, from negotiating contracts and managing brand campaigns to securing new opportunities.
At EightySix, we oversee every stage of the campaign process, making sure your interests are protected, deadlines are met and partnerships run smoothly.
But we believe good management should go further than managing your inbox. We also work closely with our creators on strategy, identifying new opportunities and helping them build long-term, sustainable careers.
How can EightySix help grow my career as a creator?
We take a strategic approach to talent management, looking beyond individual campaigns to consider the bigger picture.
Every creator we represent has their own ambitions, strengths and opportunities, so we don’t believe in taking the same approach with everyone.
We’ll work with you to develop a strategy around your personal brand, explore opportunities beyond traditional sponsored content and identify ways to grow your presence across different platforms.
Ultimately, our aim is to help you build a successful business around the content you love creating.
What makes EightySix different from other talent management agencies?
We’re deliberately boutique, which means we can offer a more personal approach to management.
Rather than building the largest possible roster, we focus on developing close working relationships with our creators and providing strategic support that’s specific to their careers.
We also know our market. Our experience across both talent management and brand partnerships means we understand what brands are looking for, how campaigns are commissioned and where the opportunities lie.
It’s this combination of commercial knowledge and personal relationships that shapes how we work.
What kind of influencers does EightySix represent?
We specialise in representing UK-based creators across home, lifestyle and fashion.
As a boutique agency, we believe there’s real value in knowing our market exceptionally well. Our focus allows us to build strong relationships with relevant brands, understand the opportunities within these sectors and offer our creators informed, specialist advice.
We’re interested in creators with a strong personal brand, an engaged audience and a clear point of difference.
How do I join EightySix?
We don’t have a fixed set of criteria for representation because we don’t believe talent can be measured by a checklist.
While we naturally need to consider commercial viability, we also look at a creator’s potential, audience, personal brand and position within the industry. We recognise that traditional measures of influence can overlook talented creators, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, and we’re committed to taking a more considered approach.
If you’re interested in joining EightySix, please email team@86talent.com.
Do I need a certain number of followers to join EightySix?
No. Follower count is just one part of the picture and, in many cases, not the most important.
We’re far more interested in the relationship you have with your audience, your engagement, commercial performance and the strength of your personal brand.
That said, there does need to be an established level of commercial activity, or clear potential for growth, for professional management to make sense.
Does EightySix represent emerging talent?
Yes, where we feel there’s a strong opportunity to develop a creator’s career.
We understand that commercial success doesn’t happen overnight, and we’re interested in creators who have established a distinctive voice and engaged community, even if their earnings are still developing.
Our decisions are based on individual circumstances and commercial potential rather than a fixed follower threshold.
How does EightySix secure brand partnerships?
Over the years, we’ve developed strong relationships with brands and agencies across the industry, which means we receive a high volume of briefs, including some exclusive opportunities.
Alongside responding to these briefs, we proactively pitch our creators for relevant campaigns and work to develop new commercial relationships.
However, we also believe that a successful creator should attract opportunities independently of their management agency.
We generally aim for a balance of around 50% inbound enquiries and 50% agency-generated opportunities. A strong personal brand and effective content strategy should generate commercial interest in their own right.
Our role is to maximise those opportunities, rather than create a reliance on agency-generated work.
Will EightySix help me develop my personal brand?
Yes. Strategy is a central part of our approach to management.
We’ll work with you to understand your audience, review your content and commercial performance, and identify opportunities to strengthen your positioning.
That might mean refining your content strategy, developing a presence on another platform or exploring a new commercial direction.
We believe the most effective personal brands are built around what makes someone interesting in the first place, rather than following the same formula as everyone else.
Does EightySix only manage Instagram collaborations?
No. While brand partnerships remain an important part of the creator economy, there are now far more opportunities for creators to develop their businesses beyond Instagram.
We encourage our talent to think about their influence across multiple platforms and explore opportunities that make sense for their individual brands.
Our focus is on long-term career development, rather than simply securing the next campaign.
Will I have a say in which brands I work with?
Of course. We believe the strongest partnerships are those where there’s a natural fit between the creator, their audience and the brand.
We won’t encourage you to promote something simply because there’s a fee attached.
We’ll advise on opportunities, negotiate terms and help you make informed commercial decisions, but your personal brand and reputation should always come first.
What is EightySix's approach to diversity and inclusion?
We believe the influencer industry should be representative of the audiences it speaks to.
That means recognising and supporting creators from different backgrounds, with different experiences, perspectives and identities.
We’re conscious that traditional measures of influence and commercial success can create barriers to representation. That’s why we take an individual approach to assessing talent, rather than relying on rigid criteria that risk excluding valuable voices.
It’s also important to us to work proactively with our diverse talent to understand their unique experience and barriers they have faced. We won’t to drive change in the industry; this has always been and remains important to us.
How does EightySix champion individuality?
We don’t believe creators need to fit a particular mould to be successful. The most interesting creators are often those who bring a different perspective, aesthetic or approach to their content.
Rather than encouraging our talent to follow the same trends or adopt the same strategy, we focus on understanding their individual strengths and developing their careers around them.
It’s an approach that benefits creators, their audiences and the brands they work with.
What support does EightySix offer beyond campaign management?
We recognise that being a creator is about more than the commercial side of the job.
It’s an industry that can be demanding, fast-moving and, at times, quite isolating. We believe having the right people around you makes a difference.
Alongside day-to-day management and strategic advice, we create opportunities for our creators to connect, share experiences and develop relationships with others in the industry.
We want our talent to feel that they’re part of an agency that knows them as individuals, not simply as names on a roster.
What is the EightySix annual talent retreat?
We love to bring our creators together in person, because we know this industry can be a little lonely at times. Our retreat isn’t something we guarantee by contract, but we do our very best to run one each year.
It’s an opportunity to take some time away from the demands of content creation, spend time with the EightySix team and get to know other creators on the roster.
As an industry built largely around people working independently, we think it’s important to create opportunities for our talent to connect away from their screens.
Our retreat is a chance to share experiences, develop friendships and enjoy spending time together outside the usual demands of work.
Will I have opportunities to meet other EightySix creators?
Yes. While each of our creators has their own career and ambitions, we also value the community we’ve built across the agency.
Alongside our retreat we arrange in-person and online training and we have a Christmas party each year, held in London, for everyone to get together and have a jolly good time!
We also encourage talent to forge their own friendships and keep in touch without us coordinating the process – to facilitate this, we have a WhatsApp Group for talent to chat, make friends and see who else is attending events and so on.
We think there’s a lot to be gained from sharing experiences with people who understand the industry from the same perspective.
What can I expect from my relationship with my talent manager?
We believe strong working relationships are fundamental to good talent management.
Your manager will oversee your day-to-day commercial activity, advise on opportunities and work with you to develop your longer-term strategy. We have weekly or bi-weekly check-ins (15 minutes) to keep in touch and your talent manager will be available on their working days on WhatsApp. We also aim to have regularly strategy sessions both in-person (likely to be once a year) and online, depending on your needs.
We value open communication, mutual respect and honest advice. That means being available when you need support, but also being prepared to offer a different perspective when we think it will benefit your career.
We see management as a partnership, and the best results come when both sides are invested in making it work.
